How to Use the New Google URL Autocorrect Feature

Have you ever tried to search for a website, but accidentally mistyped the URL? 

It can be a frustrating experience, especially if you're not sure how to fix the typo. 

Here's a Cool Tip.  Check out Google's new URL autocorrect feature.

Google Search has a new feature that can help: it suggests corrected URLs in your search request.

Here's how to use it.
  • Start typing a URL into the Google Search Address bar
  • As you type, Google will suggest corrected URLs based on your input. 
  • For example, if you type www.onee  (with one too many e's) Google may suggest www.OneCoolTip.com.

If you see a corrected URL that you think is correct, simply click on it to be taken to the website. 

Otherwise, you can continue typing the URL as usual.

That's it.

Imagine It, Create It: Google's SGE Image Creator Opens Up a New Realm of Artistic Expression

Have you ever wanted to see what your pet cat would look like in a famous painting? 

Here's a Cool Tip.   Use Google Search's new SGE image creator.

With Search Generative Experience (SGE) image creator, you can now do just that.

SGE is a powerful AI tool that allows you to generate images from text descriptions. 

Whether you're looking for a fun and unique way to immortalize your furry friend, or you're simply curious to see what a cat would look like in a different artistic style, SGE can help.

Here is an example of an image that SGE generated based on the prompt "Draw an orange cat drawn in the style of the famous painting 'Girl with a Pearl Earring'":

As you can see, SGE has done a remarkable job of capturing the style and essence of Vermeer's famous painting, while also adding a touch of whimsy and humor with the orange cat.

Here's how to do it.

Configuring Google Search Labs

The new Google SGE image creator is currently in beta, and is only available to a limited number of users. 

To access the feature, you need to enable it in Google Search Labs.

To enable Google Search Labs:
  1. Go to Google Search .
  2. Log in with you Google Account.
  3. Go to Google Labs, http://labs.google.com to join Labs.
  4. If you are already a Labs member, Click the Labs icon in the top right corner.
  5. Find the SGE, Generative AI in Search toggle and turn it on.

Create a Prompt to Draw a Picture
  1. Go to Google Searchwww.Google.com
  2. Enter the prompt "Draw an orange cat drawn in the style of the famous painting 'Girl with a Pearl Earring'".
  3. Click Enter.
  4. SGE will generate four images based on your prompt.
  5. If you're not happy with the results, you can edit your prompt and try again
    1. You can also click on any of the images to edit the descriptive text prompt and iterate on the image until it closely matches your vision.
  6. Once you're happy with the results, you can download or share your image.

  • The koala cam is available 24/7, but the best time to watch is during the day when the koalas are most active.
  • From 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Pacific Time, you're watching the live cam while it's daytime in San Diego. While it's dark, from 7:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. we rebroadcast that morning's stream.

How to Adjust Windows 11 Sound Volume With This Cool Tip

Ever found yourself fumbling with the volume slider while trying to enjoy your favorite song or video?

Wish you could adjust the volume with a simple flick of your mouse wheel? 

Here's a Cool Tip.  With Windows 11, you can! 

This new feature allows you to change the volume by simply scrolling your mouse over the volume icon in the taskbar.

Here’s how to use this feature:
  1. Move your cursor over the sound icon on the Windows 11 taskbar.
  2. Roll the mouse wheel up to increase the volume and down to decrease it.
  3. You’ll see the volume increase or decrease when you do.
  4. For example, imagine you’re listening to a song and it’s a bit too loud. Instead of clicking on the volume icon and dragging the slider, you can simply hover your mouse over the icon and scroll down to lower the volume.

How to Use the New iPhone Camera Level in iOS 17 to Take Straighter Photos

Here's a Cool Tip.  Use the new iOS1 17 camera level.

The new camera level feature in iOS 17 is a simple and effective way to take straighter photos.

When the line is yellow, your phone is level. 

This can be helpful for taking straighter photos of landscapes, buildings, and other objects.

Here's how to do it:
  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Scroll down and tap Camera.
  3. Under Composition, toggle on the switch next to Level.

4. Open the Camera app.
5. Point your phone at the object you want to photograph.

        6. Tilt your phone until the horizontal line turns yellow.

Here's a Cool Tip. Use the new Enhanced 'Find on Page' now available on the Microsoft Edge browser..

Microsoft Edge’s new enhanced ‘Find on Page’ feature in version 118 is here to revolutionize your browsing experience.

Here's how to do it.
  • Open Microsoft Edge.
  • Ensure you have version 118 or greater.
    • Click the three dots in the upper-right hand corner, then pull down to Help and Feedback and then About Microsoft Edge.
    • OR Go to edge://settings/help to check your version or update if needed.

  • Go to the webpage where you want to use the Find on Page feature.
  • Press Ctrl + F or use the F3 keyboard shortcut to open the ‘Find on Page’ bar. 
    • This bar appears at the top of the window below the address bar.
  • Type in the word or phrase you’re looking for. 
  • As you type, Edge will suggest related matches and synonyms, making it effortless to find what you’re looking for, even if you misspell a word in your search query.

Unleash the Power of Excel's Text-to-Columns Feature

Ever found yourself staring at a jumbled mess of data in an Excel spreadsheet, wishing you could magically separate it into neat, individual columns? 

Have you ever wondered if there’s a simple way to transform a single column of data into multiple ones? 

Here's a Cool Tip.  Use Microsoft Excel’s Text-to-Columns feature.

Text to columns in Excel is a method that is used to separate a text into different columns based on some delimited or a fixed width.

Here's how to do it.
  • Click on the column or select the area that contains the data you want to separate.
  • Navigate to the Data tab on the Ribbon, 
  • Click on Text to Columns
  • A wizard will pop up.
  • Choose Your Data Type: 
    • You’ll be asked if your data is Delimited or Fixed Width
      • Delimited means your data is separated by characters such as commas or tabs. 
      • Fixed Width means the data is separated by a fixed number of spaces
    • Choose the option that fits your data.
  • Set Delimiters or Column Breaks: 
    • If you chose Delimited, you’ll need to specify the delimiters (comma, space, tab, etc.). 
    • If you chose Fixed Width, you’ll set where the column breaks should be.

  • Next and Finish: You’ll get a preview of your data.

  • If everything looks good, click Finish.
