Threads Levels Up Conversations With A New Hashtag Feature

Do endless Threads conversations leave you feeling lost in a sea of messages?

Have you ever wished you could easily find specific topics or connect with like-minded users?

Here's a Cool Tip. Use the new Threads topics hashtag feature.

Threads, a social media app launched by Meta Platforms, serves as a companion app to Instagram, focusing on text-based conversations and community building.

Threads' new feature embraces a clean and intuitive approach, transforming hashtags into clickable blue text, seamlessly integrating with the platform's design.

Here's how to do it.

Type the # key or select # from the row of icons.

A list of popular hashtags pops up, allowing you to choose any of them.

Start typing the tag you want to use.
If your topic already exists, just select it.
If not, you can add it as a new topic.

The tag then appears in blue.

For any Threads post that contains a hashtag, select the tag and it shows all related posts based on that tag.

Reclaim Your Privacy: How to Disable Sharing to Facebook and Instagram on Threads

Are you concerned about your online privacy?

In today's interconnected world, where social media platforms seamlessly integrate, it's easy to lose control over how your personal content is shared.

Threads, the new social networking app from Meta, is no exception.

By default, your Threads posts may be shared with your other Meta accounts, including Facebook and Instagram.

Here's a Cool Tip. Change Your Settings to Prevent This Sharing to Other Apps.

If you're not comfortable with this level of visibility, you can disable cross-app sharing on Meta Threads and regain control over your privacy.

Here's how to do it.

Launch the Meta Threads app
Ensure you're logged into the account you want to manage sharing settings for.
Tap on your profile picture to access your profile settings.
Scroll down to the "Privacy" section
Tap on the "Suggesting posts on other apps" option.
Toggle off the switches next to "Facebook" and "Instagram" to disable cross-app sharing for both platforms.

With this simple change, you can prevent your posts from being shared to the other Meta apps.
