Did a file on your Windows PC disappear?

Check your Recycle bin.

When working with files and folders on a Windows computer, it can be easy to accidentally delete something important.

Fortunately, Windows includes a feature that can help prevent accidental deletions: delete confirmation alerts.

By enabling delete confirmation alerts, Windows will prompt you to confirm that you want to delete a file or folder before it is permanently removed from your computer.

Here's how to do it.

  • Right mouse-click on the Recycle Bin.
  • Select Properties.
