Bing Chat Can Now Understand Images

Have you ever wanted to share an image with an AI and have it analyzed in real-time?

Here's a Cool Tip: Bing Chat’s new Add an Image feature.

With this new feature, you can now upload images directly into the Bing AI, and Bing Chat will analyze the image using advanced image recognition technology. 

Bing Chat can provide detailed information about the contents of the image, including objects, people, and even emotions.

By analyzing the image, Bing Chat can better understand the context of the conversation and provide more relevant information. 

Here's how to do it.

• Go to www.bing.com.

• Select Chat from the top menu.

• Select the Add an Image icon in the chat window.

• Select where to Add an Image From:  From URL, Upload from this Device or Rake a Photo.

• Enter a prompt such as "Tell me about this image".

• Bing Chat will analyze the photo and respond.

• In this example, I select a recent vacation photo from a museum in the Rocky Mountain National Park concerning Pocket Gophers and Pikas.

• I uploaded the image and asked Bing Chat to tell me about the image:

• Bing analyzed the photo, added additional information and provided links for additional information.

How to Ensure Accurate Data Entry in Microsoft Excel

Have you ever struggled with inaccurate date entries in your Excel spreadsheets? 

Do you want to ensure that the dates entered in your workbook fall within a specific range? 

Here's a Cool Tip: Use data validation to restrict date entries in Excel. 

Data validation is a powerful feature in Excel that allows you to control the type of data entered into a cell. 

With data validation, you can specify that a cell can only accept values that meet certain criteria, such as a date within a specific range.

Here's how to do it:

• Select the cells where you want the data validation applied.
• In the Ribbon, select Data > Data Validation.
• In the Settings tab, set the Validation criteria.
• Set the Allow to Date

• Set the date range you want to apply.
• Now, if a user tries to enter a date outside of the specified range, an error message will appear.
• This helps ensure that the dates entered in your workbook are accurate and fall within the desired range.

You can choose many different data validations such as whole number, time, decimal or make your own Custom validation. 

You can also set the error message to display.

So use Data Validation the next time you are creating a spreadsheet for data entry.

How to Illuminate Your Way with the Apple Watch

Just like your iPhone, your Apple Watch can double as a handy flashlight. 

Whether you're fumbling for your keys in the dark or need a little extra light in a dimly lit environment, the Apple Watch flashlight is here to illuminate your way. 

How to Access the Flashlight Feature

• Raise your wrist or tap the screen of your Apple Watch to wake it up. 
• Once it's awake, swipe up from the bottom of the screen to reveal the Control Center.
• Find the flashlight icon—a small, illuminated torch symbol.

Turn On the Flashlight

• Tap the flashlight icon.
• Your Apple Watch's screen will transform into a radiant light source.
• Swipe left to choose a mode:
• a steady white light, 
• a flashing white light, or 
• a steady red light, perfect for lighting the dark without being annoying.

Adjust the Brightness

• Once the flashlight is activated, press on the screen to adjust the brightness level.

Turn Off the Flashlight

• Tap the flashlight icon in the Control Center again to switch off the light. 
• Or, press the Digital Crown on the side of your Apple Watch to return to the watch face, automatically deactivating the flashlight.

Are you tired of seeing the same old perspectives on the news? 

Do you want to learn more about different viewpoints on a topic? 

Here's a Cool Tip: Google's new Perspectives filter.

The Perspectives filter is a new feature that allows you to see a variety of perspectives on any topic. 

When you use the filter, Google will show you a mix of long and short-form videos, images, and written posts from a variety of sources, including discussion boards, Q&A sites, and social media.

This means that you can get a more well-rounded view of a topic by seeing what people from different backgrounds and with different experiences have to say.

Here's how to use the new Perspectives filter:

• Go to Google  on the web or use the mobile Google app for iPhone or Android.
• Search for a topic.
• Click on the Perspectives filter.
• For the mobile apple, swipe the filters until you see Perspectives.
• Scroll through the results and see what different people have to say.

Here are some additional tips for using the Perspectives filter:

• This feature is slowly rolling out to users.  Try checking if you can see the Perspectives filter on the web or mobile app version.
• Pay attention to the sources of the content. This will help you to understand the different perspectives that are being represented.
• Don't be afraid to click on the links to the original content. This will give you the opportunity to learn more about the different perspectives.
• Use the filter to find new and interesting topics. You might be surprised at what you find.

An interesting note is that many users would add Reddit to the end of their Google search input in order to filter results to include comments from the popular site.

However, this no longer works well since Reddit's recent policy changes on APIs and moderation has resulted in many popular subreddits going dark or unusable.

So try this new Google feature on your next Google search!
