iPhone’s Stolen Device Protection is a security feature introduced with iOS 17.3 that enhances the safety of your device in case it gets stolen or lost1. 

It adds an extra layer of security by implementing Face ID and Touch ID authentication along with a one-hour security delay. 

This prevents thieves from wiping your iPhone or accessing your personal information, including your Apple ID, even if they somehow know your passcode.

Set-up is easy!

Here's how to do it.

• Update your iPhone to iOS 17.3 or later.
• Open the Settings app.
• Tap Face ID & Passcode.
• Enter your passcode.
• Scroll down and toggle on Stolen Device Protection.
• Choose Always to require a security delay every time, or Away From Familiar Locations for delays only when away from recognized spaces.

However, it may introduce inconvenience for legitimate emergency access and could be confusing for less tech-savvy users.
