Here's how to do it.
  1. Open Microsoft Word, Excel or PowerPoint and navigate to the ‘Draw’ tab.
  2. Select the ‘Ink to Text Pen’ tool.
  3. Write your notes using a digital pen on your device’s touchscreen.
  4. Use natural gestures to edit or format the converted text.
You can make various editing marks with natural gestures.

Here are some of the gestures you can use:
  • Circle to Select: Draw a circle around the text you want to select. This can be words, sentences, or paragraphs.
  • Cross Out to Delete: Draw a line through the text to delete it. For larger chunks of text, you can use diagonal lines or up-and-down squiggles.
  • Apply Highlighting: Use a highlighter pen from the Pens group and draw across text to highlight it. To remove the highlight, draw across the text again.
  • Join Words: Draw a curve to join two words, ensuring both ends of the curve touch the words you want to join.
  • Split Words: Draw a vertical line within a word to split it into two.
  • Insert a Word: Draw a caret between two words to insert text. After drawing the caret, write the words you want to add.
  • Make a New Line: Draw a backward L shape to move text to a new line.

The Ink to Text Pen tool is a game-changer for anyone who prefers the tactile feel of writing but wants the convenience of digital documents.

It’s particularly beneficial for quickly digitizing notes or brainstorming sessions.

However, it currently supports only English (EN-US) and requires the latest version of Windows 11, which might limit its accessibility for some users.
