Here's a Cool Tip: Bulk Upload URLs in NotebookLM.
As of August 5, 2025, NotebookLM silently rolled out a feature that lets you upload multiple web links in one go.
What the Feature Is & Why It Matters
NotebookLM now supports bulk URL uploads. Instead of adding each web or YouTube link manually, you can paste a list into the “Add Sources” dialog and it processes them as individual sources.
That makes a dramatic difference for anyone building notebooks from multiple web references—students, content creators, analysts, you name it.
It speeds up workflow, reduces repetitive clicks, and helps you focus on insights, not input tasks.
- Speed: Add tens of sources in a single paste operation.
- Less friction: No more tedious pop-up dialogs per URL.
- Scale: Quicker notebook building for larger projects.
Step‑by‑Step Instructions
Here's how to do it.
On Microsoft Web/Desktop
- Open a notebook, notebooklm.google.com
- Go to Sources panel.
- Click Add Source.
- Choose Website URL.
- Paste multiple URLs (each separated by space or new line).
- Click Import. NotebookLM processes each link and adds them sequentially.
- Monitor progress in the Sources list.
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- A long-requested feature that directly addresses one of NotebookLM’s most tedious pain points
- Great for batch projects, compiling dozens of articles, case studies, or videos quickly.
- No special tools needed, just the standard web interface.
Cons:
- In mobile apps, bulk paste is not supported yet.
- If one URL fails (say, paywalled or bad), it may halt the rest or stall. Error handling is basic.
Feature Access
- Available now on the web/desktop version of NotebookLM (public-facing product), rolled out August 5, 2025.
- Support on iOS/Android is not yet available.
- Accessible to anyone with NotebookLM access.
