Do you use Google Chrome as your default web browser?

Do you ever find yourself switching between your web browser and your file explorer?

Here's a Cool Tip: use Google Chrome as a file explorer.

That's right, you can use Chrome to browse your local files, just like you would with Windows Explorer or Finder.

Using Chrome as a file explorer is a great way to quickly and easily access your local files.

It's also a good option if you're looking for a way to open files that your default file explorer can't open.

Here's how to use Chrome as a file explorer:

  • Type "c:/" (without the quotes) into the Google Chrome address bar
  • Press Enter
  • This will open a window called "Index of C:," which is an index of all computer files found on your C drive.
  • From there, you can browse through the folders, much like using File Explorer or Finder.
  • Double click on the "Users" folder to find your login.  Your files will be here in numerous folders, including OneDrive if you are using Office 365.

  • This will open the PDF file in Chrome.

7 Cool Tips to Keep Your Phone Cool this Summer!

Hot Thermometer
Have you ever felt your phone turn into a pocket-sized furnace?

Do you dread using your mobile outdoors in the sizzling heat, fearing it might just overheat and call it quits?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you’ve come to the right place!

Don’t let the summer sun put your digital companion on the fritz; be smart and keep it cool!

Hot Mobile Phone

Here are seven simple yet effective strategies to keep your mobile phone chill even when the mercury is soaring.

Tip 1: Seek Shade
Your phone is not a fan of sunbathing. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause it to heat up rapidly. Whenever possible, keep it in the shade or inside a bag to protect it from direct sunlight.

Tip 2: Remove the Case
Many phone cases, especially those made of leather or plastic, act as insulators and trap heat. If you notice your phone getting warm, take off the case to allow the heat to dissipate more quickly.

Tip 3: Lower Screen Brightness
A bright screen not only drains your battery but also generates extra heat. Tame that scorching screen by lowering the brightness levels or switching on the auto-brightness feature.

Tip 4: Close Unnecessary Apps
Got 27 apps open? That's your phone’s processor working overtime! Keep it breezy by closing apps that you aren’t actively using.

Tip 5: Turn Off Unused Features
Switch off features like Bluetooth, GPS, and Wi-Fi when not in use. Your phone doesn't have to constantly search for signals, and as a bonus, you’ll save battery life!

Tip 6: Avoid Using Intensive Applications
Highly demanding applications such as games and video editing apps can cause your phone to heat up. When it's already hot outside, give these apps a summer break!

Tip 7: Stay Cool Yourself
If you’re in an air-conditioned space, chances are your phone will stay cool too. The ambient temperature plays a significant role in your device’s temperature, so staying in cooler areas will definitely benefit your phone.

With these seven Cool Tips, your mobile phone can keep its cool all summer long.

You don’t have to endure scorching hot devices that can ruin your summer vibes.

Be proactive, and give your phone the TLC it needs to beat the heat. Happy summer to you and your phone!

Enjoy!
