  1. Open the ChatGPT desktop app and sign in.
  2. Place the app window you want ChatGPT to examine in front.
  3. Press both Command keys together, or use your custom shortcut.
  4. If prompted, allow Screen & System Audio Recording and Accessibility access. These permissions let ChatGPT capture the window image and read available text.
  5. Return to ChatGPT, check the attachment, add your instruction, and send it.
