It can also support persistent storage, file uploads, visitor authentication, access controls, analytics, and custom domains when those capabilities are available for your account.

The feature is currently in public beta for ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, and Edu plans.

Usage limits, workspace policies, regional availability, and individual account rollout may affect access.

ChatGPT Sites is a website-building and managed-hosting service inside ChatGPT.

Instead of creating a project in one application and transferring it to a separate hosting provider, you can ask ChatGPT to build, test, save, and deploy the project through one workflow.

Start with a prompt that explains the Site’s audience, purpose, content, appearance, and required behavior.

ChatGPT creates a first version that you can preview.

You can then request changes such as adjusting colors, adding a contact form, reorganizing navigation, fixing mobile spacing, or adding interactive features.

Sites separates saving from publishing.

Saving creates a reviewable version. Deploying publishes a selected version to its production address.

Every deployed Sites URL is a production deployment, so users should save and review a version before making it available to others.

A Site can be static, but it does not have to be.

Sites can use D1, a SQLite-compatible database, for structured information such as form submissions, saved preferences, scores, and other records.

It can use R2 object storage for uploaded documents, images, audio, video, and other files.

The feature is particularly useful for people who can clearly describe a workflow but do not want to assemble a conventional web-development stack.

Developers can also use Sites to prototype an idea, publish a compatible local project, or test a concept before moving it to more specialized infrastructure.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Here's how to do it.

Web/Desktop

Open ChatGPT on the web and select More > Sites, or go directly to the ChatGPT Sites dashboard.
Start a new Site. You can also begin a regular ChatGPT task and include the word website or mention @Sites in your prompt.
Describe the Site’s audience, purpose, appearance, content, and required visitor actions.
Explain whether information must remain saved between visits. Mention file uploads, user accounts, databases, or other persistent data requirements explicitly.
Review the generated Site at both desktop and mobile screen widths.
Select Edit in the preview and enter your changes under Describe website edits.
Use Screenshot or Add files and more when ChatGPT needs visual examples, images, documents, or other supporting material.
Ask ChatGPT to save a version without deploying it. This gives you a reviewable version that is not yet live.
When the Site is ready, open its sharing controls and choose the intended audience.
Deploy the approved version and test the production URL from the perspective of a visitor.
