Microsoft Word
You begin typing a familiar phrase like “Please let me know if you have any…” and pause.

Word quietly suggests “questions” before you finish the sentence.

That small assist adds up.

Over the course of a long document or a day full of emails, predictive text reduces friction and keeps you moving.

Here’s a Cool Tip: Let Word suggest the rest of your sentence.

The feature is built into Microsoft Editor, yet many users overlook it or leave it turned off.

Feature Explanation

Text Predictions in Microsoft Word are part of Microsoft Editor.

As you type, Word suggests the next word or short phrase directly in your document, shown in lighter gray text next to your cursor.

You can:
  • Press Tab or the right arrow key to accept a suggestion.
  • Keep typing to ignore it.
  • Press Esc to dismiss it.

This feature is more than simple autocomplete.

It uses context from your sentence to anticipate what comes next, often suggesting complete phrases rather than single words.

Why it matters:
  • Cuts down repetitive typing.
  • Helps maintain writing flow.
  • Speeds up everyday business writing.
  • Keeps your focus on ideas, not keystrokes.

Text predictions are especially helpful for people who write frequently, including business users, students, and content creators.

What You’ll Gain
  • Save time by typing fewer characters.
  • Stay focused with fewer interruptions.
  • Reduce repetition in emails and documents.
  • Move through drafts more quickly.
