The Clock is Back: Why Windows 11's September 2025 Update Matters

The Windows 11 “2025” update (version 25H2) quietly restores something users have missed: a clock with seconds inside the Notification Center. Along with this, Microsoft has delivered several refinements and made the update easier to install. Here’s what you need to know, how to use it, and why it matters.

Windows 11
Think about the small things that slow you down.

Checking the time while you already have notifications open seems trivial, but those moments add up.

Here's a Cool Tip:  Download the September 2025 Windows 11 Update for the New Notification Center Clock.

With the September update, you no longer need to glance back at the taskbar just to confirm the time.

It’s not a groundbreaking feature, yet it shows Microsoft paying attention to details that shape daily use.

For most of us, those details are what separate a smooth workflow from a frustrating one.

Take Back Control: How ChatGPT’s New Parental Tools Help Shape Your Teen’s AI Experience

Microsoft’s Red Gets a Makeover. Here’s Why It Matters for Accessibility

Microsoft’s Red Gets a Makeover. Here’s Why It Matters for Accessibility

Microsoft 365 quietly updated its standard red font color to improve readability and meet accessibility standards. This small change makes a big difference, and you can apply it manually too.

New Red Circle
Ever struggled to read red text on a white slide?

You’re not the only one.

For years, Microsoft’s default red, used to emphasize, alert, and annotate, has been visually loud but not always legible.

Especially for folks with low vision or color sensitivity, that bright red could be more of a barrier than a beacon.

Here's a Cool Tip:  Microsoft Has Adjusted the Default Red in Microsoft 365 Apps.

It’s a subtle shift, but it speaks to a broader push for inclusive design.

Drive With the Wizard of Oz on Waze

Drive With the Wizard of Oz on Waze

Waze now lets you make your daily drives more whimsical by enabling a Wizard of Oz-themed experience, complete with voices, characters, and map styles from the classic. Here’s what it does, how to turn it on, what works well (and not so well), and whether it’s more novelty than productivity boost.

Tin Man - Wizard of Oz on Waze
Ever wanted Dorothy, the Tin Man, or the Cowardly Lion guiding your route instead of a generic GPS voice?

Here's a Cool Tip:  Drive with the Wizard of Oz on Waze.

Waze’s new Wizard of Oz overlay brings just that: when activated, characters chime in with navigation prompts ("turn left," "heavy traffic ahead") and sprinkle in memorable lines from the original film.

You can also choose your “mood” (how your avatar appears), e.g. “Ruby Slippers” and drive a stylized “Emerald” classic car on the map.

This isn’t just a gimmick dropped out of nowhere.
