Link Like a Pro: Use This Cool Tip to Add Hyperlinks

Do you find yourself constantly copying and pasting website links into your Microsoft documents? 

Did you know that there's a Cool Tip to insert links using a keyboard shortcut? 
    • Use Control + K as a keyboard shortcut to quickly insert a hyperlink address in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Here's how to do it:
  • First, highlight the text that you want to turn into a link.
  • Press the Control + K keys on your keyboard. 
    • This will open the Insert Hyperlink dialog box.
  • In the Address field, type or paste the URL of the website you want to link to.
  • Click OK to insert the link into your document.

That's it!  You've just saved yourself precious time.

This shortcut works in all recent versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as many other Windows programs.

Master Windows 11 Quick Settings - Here's How!

Is there a quick way to access key Windows 11 settings?

Yes, Virginia, there is a Windows Santa Claus.

And that Cool Tip from Santa is Quick Settings.

Windows 11 has a new Quick Settings menu that lets you access and adjust some of the most common features on your PC, such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, volume, brightness, focus assist, night light, and more. 

You can also add or remove shortcuts to other useful features such as cast, project, battery saver, VPN, etc.

Here's how to  access the Quick Settings menu in Windows 11.
  • Click on the status icons (Wi-Fi, speaker, battery) in the lower-right corner of your taskbar,

  • Or press Windows+A on your keyboard. 
You will see a panel with various toggles and sliders that you can use to change your settings quickly.

To customize the Quick Settings menu in Windows 11, click on the pen icon at the bottom of the panel. 

You will see all the available shortcuts that you can add or remove by clicking on them. You can also rearrange them by dragging and dropping them. 

Once you are done editing your Quick Settings menu, click on Done to save your changes.

For Windows 10, on the right end of the taskbar, select the Action Centericon or use Windows+A.

The Quick Settings menu is a convenient way to access and adjust some of the most frequently used settings on your PC without opening the full Settings app.

F5: The Ultimate Shortcut for Keeping Your Web Browsing Fresh!

F5 is a keyboard shortcut that is commonly used to refresh a web page on most web browsers. 

The shortcut is also known as a reload button, and it is a simple and effective way to refresh the content of a web page. 

Here's what you can do with F5:

Press it once. This will refresh the current web page in your browser.   You can also use Ctrl + r shortcut.

You can use the Ctrl + F5 (or Shift+ F5) keyboard shortcut to force a refresh of the page and bypass the browser's cache. This can be helpful if you want to see the latest version of a web page that has been updated recently.

To clear the browser's cache, you need to open the option to clear the browser’s cache, via the shortcut Ctrl + Shift + Delete (or Ctrl + Shift + Del).
