Google Maps offers a handy feature that allows you to measure distances between any two points on the map, making it a valuable tool for travelers, planners, and anyone curious about distances. 

Google Maps' distance measurement feature is a built-in tool that allows you to calculate the straight-line distance between two or more points on the map. 

It's particularly useful for:
  • Planning trips: Determine the mileage of your route and estimate travel time.
  • Comparing distances: Evaluate the proximity of different locations or options.
  • Outdoor activities: Measure the distance of hiking trails, running routes, or cycling routes.
  • Project planning: Calculate distances for construction projects, deliveries, or event logistics.

Here's how to do it.

1. Open Google Maps, maps.google.com.
2. Locate Your Starting Point:
  • Web: Right-click on the starting point on the map.
  • Mobile: Tap and hold on the starting point on the map.
3. Select "Measure Distance"
  • Web: Select "Measure distance."
  • Mobile: Tap the "Measure distance" option in the pop-up menu.

 4.  Mark Your Destination
  • Web: Click on your final destination point on the map. Right-click to select "distance to here". A line connects your starting point to your destination, and the distance displays.
  • Mobile: Drag the map and tap "Add Point". The distance displays at the bottom.

5. View the Distance
  • The total distance between the selected points displays at the bottom of the screen.
