 Google's latest enhancement to Google Lens now makes this possible, transforming the way iOS users interact with on-screen content.

Google Lens, renowned for its visual search capabilities, has introduced a feature that allows iOS users to search their screens directly within the Chrome browser and Google app. 

This advancement eliminates the need for cumbersome steps, offering a seamless and efficient browsing experience.​

Understanding the Feature and Its Significance

Traditionally, obtaining information about on-screen content required manual searches or capturing and uploading screenshots. 

The new Google Lens feature streamlines this process by enabling direct interaction with screen elements. 

Whether you're curious about a product in an image, need a term definition, or seek more details on a landmark, this tool provides immediate answers. 

This integration not only enhances user convenience but also exemplifies the fusion of AI technology with everyday tasks, making information retrieval more intuitive.​

Here's how to do it.
  1. Verify that you have the latest versions of the Chrome browser and Google app installed on your iPhone.​
Accessing the Feature in Chrome:
  1. Open the Chrome browser.​
  2. Tap the three-dot menu icon located at the bottom-right corner.​
  3. Select "Search Screen with Google Lens."​
  4. A shimmer effect appears over your screen. 
  5. Draw a circle or tap on the area you wish to search.​

Accessing the Feature in the Google App:
  1. Launch the Google app.​
  2. Choose "Search this Screen."​
  3. Highlight or tap the desired content to initiate the search.​

Note: This update is rolling out this week and will be available globally on both Chrome and the Google app for iOS.

This feature is available to all iOS users globally with the latest versions of the Chrome browser and Google app. 

Android users have enjoyed this capability for some time.

Android users can activate it by long-pressing the home button (or using Google Assistant) and selecting "Search screen" to analyze text, images, and objects directly.

Google's enhancement to Lens on iOS signifies a pivotal shift towards more integrated and intelligent browsing.
